Job Summary:
The CES Verizon Account Director is responsible for the Verizon business with CES. They shall
be accountable for the operational stability of the relationship as well as assisting in the growth
of the relationship. CES is largest of the four Verizon national SMART vendors and performs
more mount analysis than all other SMART vendors combined. In addition, CES performs tower
engineering, A&E, design build solutions and manages the maintenance and condition
assessment program at a national level. The role involves accountability to ensure that projects,
tasks, and teams are effectively coordinated, operational goals are met, and service delivery is
efficient and cost-effective.
The Account Director ensures smooth execution of engineering projects while maintaining standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Director serves at the single point of contact for a designated national customer, as well as serves as the
default facilitator for the subject matter expert(s) with respect to national standards (NSTD444, 446 & 447) by the customer. This position also manages a collection of project managers and coordinators (10 plus) who are direct liaisons between customers with respect to communication
and delivery of services.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
- Primary liaison for Verizon, directing and managing all Congruex interaction with Verizon
wireless, executing within SLAs and in compliance with standards.
- Manage resource allocation, risk management and reporting, within Congruex' budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, to ensure timely and
successful program execution.
- Understand the Verizon NSTD444, 446 & 447 Standards and its relationship with the
Verizon SESC, TIA, IBC, FAA, FCC, OET, and the tower co relationships that apply.
- Provide executive-level reporting to both Verizon and Congruex management personnel
- Participate, present in Verizon corporate level calls and meetings with Verizon
management
- Understand the SMART program requirements and escalation process for complex
traditional and non-traditional structures, mapping issues, PMI issues, and field issues
- Track program performance using appropriate systems and metrics, ensuring KPIs and
SLAs are met, including TES' tools ("EPM") and Verizon tools ("FUZE")
- Attend and participate in weekly/biweekly/monthly calls related to the program (capacity
discussions, conformance discussions, tool enhancement discussions)
- Track performance and identify program risks and communicate in a timely manner to
Verizon corporate and Congruex VP.
- Ability to engage and/or lead discussions with the PSTV consortium as needed to
ensure consistency is maintained with the program
- Ability to maintain and communicate changes to the 444, 446 & 447 programs, including
but not limited to scope of work for services, execution requirements and expectations
- Conduct regular status meetings with customer and internal teams, providing clear
updates and gathering feedback.
- Ability to coordinate and plan for quarterly in-person meetings with Verizon at the
market, regional and corporate levels
- Develop plans for advancing the market share with Verizon. Currently CES is the largest
producer and there are significant growth opportunities within existing assigned Verizon
markets and markets that CES is not assigned to.
- Drive and advance the patented solutions for use by Verizon on its structures and the
structures of the Verizon Tower co partners such as ATC, SBA, Crown, Vertical Bridge,
USCC and others.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Communication and Client Management: Strong interpersonal and communication
skills to work with clients, senior management, and external stakeholders. This is a focal
area it is essential
- Telecom Engineering Knowledge: A solid understanding of telecom systems,
infrastructure, and technologies.
- Project Management: Expertise in managing engineering projects, including creating
and maintaining schedules, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership and people management skills
to effectively lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and
contractors.
- Operational Efficiency: Ability to streamline operations, optimize resource use, and
improve the overall efficiency of telecom engineering projects.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong critical thinking skills to identify issues,
analyze them, and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Regulatory and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, safety
standards, and quality assurance protocols, particularly for telecom infrastructure and
engineering projects.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Experience managing vendors, negotiating
contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of services and materials.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track
project progress, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Relationship management experience (government/city officials, clients, etc.) preferred.
- Business, civil/and or telecommunications construction background preferred.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in business, science, technology, engineering or
mathematics preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, packages).
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate computers, printers, and other office
equipment.
- Visual acuity required for reading documents and computer screens.
Work Environment:
- Standard office setting with controlled climate.
- Noise level is generally low to moderate (e.g., printers, phone calls, conversations).
- May require occasional travel for meetings, training, or other business-related activities.
