POSITION: Washtenaw Client Transportation Specialist (CTS)

SUPERVISION: Recovery Housing Program Manager

DESCRIPTION: The Client Transportation Specialist is a full or part-time position located at the Home of New Vision, Main Office, 3115 Professional Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

The Client Transportation Specialist (CTS) is a vital position within our organization, responsible for ensuring safe and efficient transportation for our clients. A CTS is responsible for driving a company-owned vehicle, meticulously planning routes while accounting for traffic and weather conditions, and maintaining the vehicle's cleanliness and fuel levels. Maintains professionalism and attention to detail. Upholds confidentiality and represents our organization positively when interacting with clients. In addition to transportation duties, the applicant is responsible for invaluable support functions within the organization. Dedication and commitment to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our mission and the well-being of our clients.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of clients while transporting them to and from recovery programs and local area resource agencies.
  • Complete assigned duties such as mapping daily routes as admissions/discharges occur, communicating with clients by telephone about any program changes/transportation delays, and problem-solving any transportation issues.
  • Responsible for making sure that the vehicle is cleaned after each use, as well as maintaining proper fuel levels.
  • Maintains vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or internal maintenance plan to ensure safe, working order.
  • Represents the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential clients.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding clients, staff, and the community.
  • Maintains a current understanding of procedures if an accident should occur with the vehicle, with or without clients on board.
  • Follows proper reporting procedures.
  • Assists the Transportation Coordinator.
  • Performs and assists with light maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assist with ensuring vehicles receive proper maintenance on an ongoing basis.
  • Demonstrates ability to set priorities.
  • Completes assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, preferred chauffeur's license.
  • Ability to pass background checks and clearances.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work evenings and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of streets and highways in Washtenaw County preferred.

Job Type: Full-Time/ Part-Time

Pay: $16 per hour
