Description:
Position is located at the Holy Cross Hospital Silver Spring CampusGeneral Summary: Participates in the administration of the Infection Control, and the Accreditation and Regulatory Programs to include all the facilities included in Holy Cross Health. Under the direction of the Director of Infection Control, assists in the development, implementation, and coordination of the efforts of staff, physicians, students and contract employees in the prevention and control of infections and infectious diseases.Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):
- Certification in Infection Control Epidemiology (CIC) or certification within 2 years of assignment to job.
- LPN or RN Maryland License
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience in the field of Nursing, with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience(Critical Care, MedSurge or Emergency Department experience preferred).
- Previous experience working in an acute care clinical setting for two years. Must indicate an interest in and be able to participate in continued education related to hospital epidemiology.
- Ability to effectively teach adults in a formal and informal setting.
- Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and electronically.
- Strong analytical skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Cerner.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate an ability to communicate and work with persons of diverse background. Must be able to implement evidence-based guidelines and policies.

Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Environmental Conditions: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
Reporting Relationship:
Supervised by the Senior Director of Quality/Accreditation and the Manager of Infection Control/Accreditation as well as the Physician Advisor to Infection Control.
