We are seeking a detail-oriented Deburr / Benchwork Operator to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring the precision, quality, and conformance of CNC-machined and punch-pressed components. The technician will perform hands-on post-machining processes such as deburring, blending, hand sanding, polishing, and inspection of metal parts to meet customer and AS9100 quality standards.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in craftsmanship, and has at least one year of experience in deburring, metal finishing, or similar manufacturing environments. Preference will be given to candidates with a short commute and reliable attendance to support daily production needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform deburr, blending, and finishing operations on aerospace and defense components inherent to the Belshaw facility product lines using hand tools, power tools, air tools, and abrasive equipment.
- Interpret basic blueprints, work instructions, and routers to understand part requirements and tolerances.
- Follow detailed instructions to ensure proper edge break, radiusing, and surface finish without damaging critical features.
- Visually inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, surface imperfections, and conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with machinists, quality inspectors, and production leadership to ensure smooth work order flow and part readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following company safety policies and best practices.
- Proactively communicate any non-conformance, tooling needs, or process issues to supervisors for timely resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on deburring processes and techniques.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in deburring, hand-finishing, metalworking, or similar benchwork role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and finishing equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive, detail-focused tasks with consistency and care.
- Basic understanding of part drawings and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
- Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to quality, reliability, and teamwork.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Dependable transportation and a commute of less than 30 minutes preferred to ensure punctuality and support daily production flow.
- Experience working on aerospace or defense parts under AS9100 or other regulated quality systems.
- Familiarity with titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, or Inconel part finishing.
- Exposure to First Article Inspection (FAI) environments.

Estamos buscando un Operador de Desbarbado / Banco de Trabajo con gran atención al detalle para unirse a nuestro equipo de manufactura aeroespacial y de defensa. Este puesto es fundamental para garantizar la precisión, calidad y conformidad de las piezas mecanizadas por CNC y estampadas en prensa.
El técnico realizará procesos manuales posteriores al maquinado, como desbarbado, mezclado, lijado, pulido e inspección de piezas metálicas para cumplir con los estándares de calidad del cliente y de AS9100.
El candidato ideal tiene habilidad mecánica, orgullo por su trabajo manual y al menos un año de experiencia en desbarbado, acabado de metales o entornos de manufactura similares. Se dará preferencia a candidatos con traslado corto y asistencia confiable para apoyar las necesidades diarias de producción. Responsabilidades Principales:
- Realizar operaciones de desbarbado, mezclado y acabado en componentes aeroespaciales y de defensa propios de las líneas de productos de la planta Belshaw, utilizando herramientas manuales, eléctricas, neumáticas y equipos abrasivos.
- Interpretar planos básicos, instrucciones de trabajo y rutas de producción para comprender los requisitos y tolerancias de las piezas.
- Seguir instrucciones detalladas para asegurar el rompimiento de bordes, radios y acabado superficial adecuados sin dañar características críticas.
- Inspeccionar visualmente las piezas para detectar rebabas, bordes filosos, imperfecciones superficiales y verificar la conformidad con las especificaciones.
- Colaborar con maquinistas, inspectores de calidad y líderes de producción para garantizar un flujo continuo de órdenes y preparación de piezas.
- Mantener un área de trabajo limpia, organizada y segura, siguiendo las políticas y prácticas de seguridad de la empresa.
- Comunicar proactivamente cualquier no conformidad, necesidad de herramienta o problema de proceso al supervisor para su pronta resolución.
- Apoyar las iniciativas de mejora continua, proporcionando retroalimentación sobre los procesos y técnicas de desbarbado.
- Mínimo 1 año de experiencia en desbarbado, acabado manual, trabajo en banco o funciones similares dentro de un entorno de manufactura.
- Aptitud mecánica sólida y familiaridad con herramientas manuales, neumáticas y equipos de acabado.
- Capacidad para realizar tareas repetitivas y detalladas con consistencia y precisión.
- Comprensión básica de planos y herramientas de medición (calibradores, micrómetros, calibradores de rosca, etc.).
- Excelente coordinación mano-ojo, destreza manual y atención al detalle.
- Actitud positiva, con compromiso hacia la calidad, confiabilidad y trabajo en equipo.
- Capacidad para levantar hasta 35 libras y trabajar de pie durante periodos prolongados.
- Transporte confiable y preferencia por candidatos con un traslado menor a 30 minutos, para garantizar puntualidad y apoyo al flujo de producción diario.
- Experiencia trabajando con piezas aeroespaciales o de defensa bajo sistemas de calidad AS9100 u otros regulados.
- Familiaridad con acabados en titanio, acero inoxidable, aluminio o Inconel.
- Experiencia en entornos de Inspección de Primer Artículo (FAI).
