ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that promotes healthy social and emotional development for children living with serious and chronic illnesses, by matching them with college athletic teams. The team provides an extended support network for children and families using a strength-based, future-focused perspective. This two-year therapeutic mentoring program provides children with a true sense of belonging and focuses on building confidence and resilience while encouraging healthy behaviors.
To date, Team IMPACT has matched over 4,000 kids on over 750 campuses nationally, and 100,000 student athletes have participated in the program. Founded in Boston, MA in 2011, the Team IMPACT program is now in colleges across all fifty (50) states.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director of Events will employ strong project management, exceptional communication, and relationship-building skills to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the organization's events. Reporting to the Chief of Organizational Strategy the Associate Director of Events will advance Team IMPACT's mission by engaging with student athletes, families, alumni, donors, and partners while managing a portfolio of fundraising, stewardship, and programmatic events intended to elevate brand awareness, deepen community connections and engagement, and drive revenue growth. In collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Associate Director of Events will be responsible for ensuring that national and regional events reflect Team IMPACT's values and deliver an exceptional experience inspiring connection and impact. The annual salary for this position is $90k – 110k annually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assume full responsibility for leading strategy, planning, and execution of national and regional events, including Team IMPACT's Game Day Gala, fundraisers, and large program focused events (e.g., Team IMPACT Field Days and Team IMPACT Fellowship Summit).
- Collaborate with internal partners to design events that support fundraising and other goals to highlight Team IMPACT's mission.
- Manage event logistics, including timelines, budgets, and staffing.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage all external and internal constituents and participating vendors associated with the events.
- Oversee event communications and materials in coordination with the Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Develop and manage event budgets, and accurate post-event reporting.
- Create and manage the organizational event calendar in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Manage event staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality event execution.
- Monitor, manage and ensure a high touch user experience for guests.
- Evaluate event performance through metrics, feedback, and post-event analysis to inform future planning and continuous improvement.
- Continually research and identify new event opportunities that enhance organization's visibility, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.
- Must be available to work on a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, attending local, regional, and national events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess the ability to leverage critical thinking and creativity to connect with donors, partners, student athletes, and families.
- 4 – 6 years' experience in events planning required.
- Ability to establish positive, productive working relationships with diverse groups.
- Experience developing and formalizing event budgets, runs of shows, and project management for events.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, strong Excel skills are essential.
- Experience with project management applications is preferred.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mind and skill set.
- Must be highly collaborative in managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Must be highly motivated and goal oriented.
- Belief in Team IMPACT's mission, vision, and the power of team and mentoring.
