Description

Shipping & Receiving Operations

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including order management, receiving, transfers, put-aways, and customer returns.
  • Manage sales orders and job orders, aligning activities to ensure same-day shipment whenever possible.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including freight classification, routing, packaging solutions, and shipment tracing.
  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and brokers to ensure compliance with shipping standards and timely deliveries.

Inventory Management & Material Handling

  • Design and maintain warehouse layout and flow systems to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
  • Direct put-away processes to reflect client ordering preferences and increase accuracy.
  • Conduct and oversee cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

Personnel Supervision & Training

  • Align staffing levels with operational demands to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Act as a certified forklift instructor, training and certifying new hires in equipment use and safety standards.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain flow management processes, troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Provide leadership in process development and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics functions.
  • Maintain and manage documentation including travelers, client SOPs, and internal process guides.

Safety, Compliance & Facility Oversight

  • Serve as a committed member of Marlin's safety team.

Logistics & Freight Management

  • Prepare and manage customs documentation, including Schedule B, brokerage requirements, clearance, and collection.
  • Oversee client routing portal requirements for e-commerce and commercial customers.
  • Onboard carriers, evaluate performance, and approve freight invoices.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving and inventory control.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising warehouse staff preferred.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international freight logistics, including vendor negotiations.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate workflows and implement cross-departmental process improvements.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety best practices

Preferred (but not required):

  • Prior experience in machine operation or metal fabrication.
  • Experience with Joboss
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Standing, Walking and use of warehouse equipment throughout the shift.
