About the Role

We are seeking a
proactive and hands-on Data QA Lead
to enhance and elevate our data quality assurance processes. This is a new, individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Data. You will be instrumental in ensuring the
accuracy and reliability of our financial data
, from its source through our ETL pipelines to the final financial reports.

The ideal candidate is a
flexible and creative problem-solver
who can take a self-starting approach to improving our QA framework. You will work closely with our data engineering team to implement robust testing and monitoring solutions, with a strong focus on mentorship and skills development. This is a high-impact role for someone who is passionate about data integrity and wants to build a best-in-class QA program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance Data Quality Processes:
    Assess and improve our existing data QA processes, introducing new methodologies and tools to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
  • Validate Data Pipelines:
    Design, develop, and execute test plans to validate data as it moves through our ETL pipelines, ensuring data is transformed correctly and meets business requirements.
  • Ensure Financial Report Accuracy:
    Work closely with business and finance teams to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of data used in critical financial reports.
  • Lead Collaboration:
    Be the go-to expert for data quality, working closely with
    data engineers
    and other stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues.
  • Implement Testing and Automation:
    Introduce and build automated testing frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability of our data QA processes.
  • Act as a Mentor:
    Share your knowledge and best practices with the team, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    7-10 years of proven experience in data quality assurance, with a focus on data pipelines and financial reporting.
  • Financial Industry Experience:
    Direct experience in the financial services industry is a must.
    A strong understanding of financial data domains (e.g., loan data, credit data) is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in
    SQL
    is essential for data validation and analysis.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.
