Responsibilities

  • Keep financial records accurate and up to date using QuickBooks.
  • Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure all accounts stay balanced.
  • Process journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll with care and accuracy.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses to ensure data integrity following GAAP.
  • Support our nonprofit and governmental accounting needs, ensuring we stay compliant with required standards.
  • Assist with budgeting by tracking spending and revenue, and preparing clear, helpful reports for the team.
  • Create easy-to-understand financial statements and reports that support planning and transparency.
  • Help with tax preparation by maintaining organized and accessible records.
  • Apply double-entry bookkeeping principles for more complex transactions.
  • Review accounts and the general ledger to spot discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with the team in a flexible, supportive environment where communication and collaboration are valued.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with accounting tools like QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, journal entries, reconciliations).
  • Familiarity with nonprofit and governmental accounting standards is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and how to apply it in day-to-day financial work.
  • Strong skills in bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger review.
  • Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational habits, including 10-key proficiency.
  • Friendly, clear communication skills—especially when preparing reports or working with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks (A/P, A/R, budget tracking, etc.) while meeting deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a flexible work environment, balancing autonomy with teamwork.
