Georgia Clinic Healthcare Institute (GCHI) is a post-secondary healthcare training institution committed to preparing students for success in the allied health field through innovative instruction, hands-on learning, and a supportive academic environment. We are seeking a qualified and passionate Echo Instructor to join our Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Faculty Team.

Position Summary

The Echo Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in Echocardiography courses, ensuring students gain the theoretical knowledge and practical scanning skills required for professional success. The ideal candidate will inspire students to excel academically and clinically while upholding the standards set by institutional, state, and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Deliver engaging lectures, lab demonstrations, and hands-on scanning instruction in Echocardiography.
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with GCHI's DMS curriculum and accreditation standards.
  • Provide a detailed syllabus for each class, including course objectives, grading criteria, and schedule.
  • Integrate clinical and real-world applications to prepare students for the workforce and credentialing exams.

Student Assessment

  • Evaluate and document student performance through exams, lab competencies, and assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and progress in the student management system.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support academic and professional growth.
  • Ensure classroom policies are enforced consistently and fairly.

Support & Communication

  • Create an inclusive, respectful, and motivating learning environment.
  • Advise students on academic progress, career readiness, and credentialing pathways (ARDMS/CCI).
  • Address diverse learning styles and make appropriate accommodations.

Collaboration & Professionalism

  • Collaborate with Program Directors, School Director, and clinical education sites to ensure alignment of classroom and clinical instruction.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, training workshops, and institutional initiatives.
  • Maintain professional certifications and continuing education in the sonography field.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field (required).
  • Certification: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience in Echocardiography; prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in adult learning methodologies.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 9 per week
