The Billing Supervisor oversees all aspects of the billing and insurance authorization process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position provides supervision and guidance to the Insurance Authorization & Billing Specialist, manages payer relationships, and supports the organization's overall revenue cycle.

Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise the Insurance Authorization & Billing Specialist, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of daily tasks.
- Provide coaching, training, and oversight to billing staff.
- Act as the primary contact for payer audits, billing questions, and complex claim issues.
- Collaborate with leadership to streamline billing workflows and improve revenue cycle performance.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Management
- Oversee and perform billing operations including claim submission, posting, remittance processing, and reconciliation.
- Track payer responses, manage denials and appeals, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims.
- Maintain compliance with all AODE, BHMSG, and Medicaid regulations.
- Generate regular reports on billing accuracy, aging, and reimbursement trends.
- Partner with the Director of Operations and CEO to ensure fiscal accountability and accuracy.
Authorization Oversight
- Supervise insurance verification, prior authorizations, and reauthorizations for Intensive Services and Recovery Housing.
- Review clinical documentation to ensure all information aligns with payer requirements.
- Monitor authorization dates, utilization reviews, and renewals to prevent service interruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and logs of all authorization activities.
Administrative Support & Compliance
- Ensure accurate data entry, processing of disability records, and proper record maintenance.
- Stay current on payer policy updates, coding changes, and documentation standards.
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical billing practices in accordance with HIPAA and agency policy.
- Support leadership in preparing for audits and maintaining compliance with state and federal standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in medical billing, authorizations, or utilization review.
- Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, Medicaid/Medicare billing, and commercial payer procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including Google Workspace and EHR systems.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience in a healthcare or behavioral health billing role.
- Familiarity with Kentucky Medicaid and managed care payers.
- Experience with KIPU, TheraNest, or comparable EHR platforms.
- Knowledge of AODE/BHMSG compliance standards specific to Intensive Services.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50, $55,000.00 per year
