Sr. Engineering Manager, Sensor Management

Towards the end of our interview process is an in-person interview.
Do you want to help make the world safe from cyber attack?
At Corelight, we believe that the best approach to cybersecurity risk starts with the network. Attackers can evade endpoint detection, firewalls and many other technologies - but they can't avoid leaving digital footprints on the networks they traverse. Built on open-source innovations from Zeek, Suricata and YARA and refined through years of real-world use, Corelight transforms network footprints from physical, virtual and cloud networks into actionable insights. Our customers use these insights to speed incident response and proactively hunt for threats.
Role
You will be leading our Corelight sensor management product development team. (Cleverly named "Fleet") This team is responsible for developing and supporting the management platform for our Corelight family of physical, virtual, and SaaS offerings. This role will require an experienced, hands-on, detail oriented, and low ego engineering leader. The right candidate will have experience delivering web-application software products and leveraging Agile processes to improve team performance. You will partner with Product and Program Management to deliver cloud and on-premise releases on a regular cadence. You will report to the Director of Engineering, Sensors.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the engineering team responsible for developing the management platform for Corelight's virtual, physical and SaaS offerings.
- Lead development process for the Sensor Management team, including sprint planning and retrospectives, code-reviews, code style guidelines and mentoring team members.
- Have regular one on one meetings with direct reports, grow their skill sets, and motivate them to excel in their careers.
- Lead the evolution of how customers interact with Corelight's sensor products.
- Work with your team in a hands-on fashion: reviewing code and even implementing features or fixing bugs when appropriate.
- Develop and cultivate a DevOps style of development, where engineers are expected to develop, test, and support their software (with assistance from Quality Engineering and Customer Support).
- Collaborate with our product to develop and launch attractive solutions for novel functionality.
- Partner with other engineering, QE teams to ensure quality and responsiveness of the user experience.
Qualifications
- Strong appreciation and support for our core values: low ego results, tireless service, and applied curiosity.
- Deep understanding of the control-plane layer for managed devices that are deployed at scale.
- A demonstrated history of leading Engineering teams and helping them improve.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
- 5+ years experience delivering Enterprise, Security, or Network products.
- Experience leading delivery of a SaaS product or cloud services is a strong plus.
- Experience programming with Golang and Javascript
- Deep working knowledge of HTTP servers and REST API architectures
- Ability to deliver end-to-end customer value, from UI to API
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong desire to have fun and be part of a winning team
