Job Overview

Hopkins Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee nursing administration, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and implement effective care plans that meet the needs of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care and adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
  • Oversee the assessment and documentation of resident care plans, ensuring they are updated regularly based on MDS evaluations.
  • Supervise shift management to maintain adequate staffing levels and ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes through effective communication and leadership.
  • Conduct regular reviews of medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with EHR systems.
  • Provide guidance on nursing practices related to physiology and anatomy knowledge for optimal patient care.
  • Facilitate training and development opportunities for nursing staff to promote professional growth.

Experience

  • Proven experience in nursing administration or nurse management within nursing home, or acute care settings.
  • Strong supervisory experience with a focus on leadership in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with PCC EMR systems and documentation review processes is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations as they pertain to resident care.
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology and the ability to apply it effectively in clinical practice.
