Responsibilities

Job Purpose 

The Accountant, Financial Reporting, will support the preparation of monthly close and consolidation tasks such as consolidations and intercompany elimination, preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures, and any other ad-hoc reporting and investor filings.  This position will also support the preparation of annual audits, individual project-level annual audit reports and/or financial statement preparation. This position will, in collaboration with the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team and Accounting Managers, work with commercial and finance professionals across the organization to support and analyze transactions and their related disclosure requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS (i.e., footnote support schedules, tie-outs and disclosure checklists)
  • Perform or assist with ad-hoc or special projects as assigned
  • Prepare equity roll forward at individual project and consolidated level
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes and record journal entries
  • Assist in consolidation of trial balances and identifying intercompany variances
  • Support external and internal audit related activities
  • Aggregate financial statement variance analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments to gain a working knowledge of operations affecting financial and management reporting
Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 
  • CPA certification and/or graduate degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years of experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
  • An entry-level understanding of US GAAP accounting standards is required, with an entry-level GAAP technical accounting skill-set with knowledge and experience of external reporting requirements.
  • Experience in the power generation or energy industry and knowledge of applicable industry accounting standards and interpretations is preferred.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $ $51.00 Hourly USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern's compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, family care benefits, employee assistance program, paid time off and bonding leave, paid holidays, 401(k)/RRSP retirement savings plan with employer contribution, and employee referral bonuses.
