Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Design Engineers to join a dynamic and highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the Nashville area office. As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead highway and roadway design projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for improving all modes of transportation. This is a Hybrid schedule with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide technical oversight/support
- Plan and manage tasks and team members
- Coordinate with other disciplines
- Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments
- Designing roadway geometrics
- Intersection design
- Conceptual development
- Maintenance of Traffic plans
- Right-of-way and Construction plans
- Drainage design
- Erosion and sedimentation control
- Other related design tasks
- Client relationships and business development
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineer or related field with 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience and/or education
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects
- Valid US driver's license and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer License
- Project Management experience – personnel, budget, and client management
- 10+ years of roadway design experience
- Projects with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOTs
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
- MicroStation/GeoPak and/or OpenRoads or similar design applications
- Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn
