What will you be doing in this role?
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) functions with general directions from senior technical personnel. Responsibilities include performing routine and technically complex laboratory tests and analyses requiring well developed cognitive, manipulative, and problem-solving skills. The CLS II's activities include operating and maintaining test equipment, monitoring, and evaluating the quality of testing, and verifying and reporting test results. Additional duties include general support functions necessary for the routine operation of the laboratory. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the developmental issues of the patient population(s) being served.

Education Requirements:- Baccalaureate Degree in a biological science, chemistry, medical technology, or related science.
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility.
- ASCP or AAB Board of Registry certification or equivalent, preferred.
- One (1) year relevant clinical experience.
- Knowledge of current instruments: ABI 7500 Real-Time PCR system, Luminex 200, BD LSR Fortessa Flow Cytometer, and nucleic acid extractors.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other customers.
- Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
- Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Frequent use of computer keyboards monitors and telephones.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.
- Near visual acuity including color differentiation.
- Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
