Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund) in Stamford, CT for our client, supporting hedge fund accounting, NAV oversight, and U.S. GAAP financial reporting across a credit-focused platform. This hybrid role oversees fund accounting and control processes while partnering closely with portfolio management, operations, compliance, and external service providers to support accurate reporting, operational enhancements, and a fast-paced, lean investment environment.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund):

  • Fund Accounting & NAV Oversight: Oversee daily and monthly fund accounting processes, including NAV calculations, P&L review, and investor allocations.
  • Credit Strategy Accounting: Support accounting and reporting for credit-focused strategies, including loans and structured products.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Administrator Management: Review third-party administrator work, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Controls, Treasury & Collaboration: Support cash and financing activity while maintaining internal controls and partnering cross-functionally on reporting and ad hoc projects.

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 5-8 years of hedge fund accounting experience within a hedge fund, fund administrator, or public and private accounting environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong experience supporting credit strategies, with knowledge of complex instruments and hedge fund operations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience reviewing administrator reporting and financial statements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Self-directed, analytical professional with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
