Job Description
This position is a great opportunity to take a step into a sales, service and support role allowing you the chance to reach that next level in your sales career. Or, if you are a sales veteran of the hardware/home improvement industry that understands and enjoys the role of the manufacturer representative, this is the perfect opportunity for you. This position will be home-based centered in the greater Chicago area. Training will be provided.

Outside Sales Representative Duties And Responsibilities

  • Travel within your territory to meet customers one-on-one.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services, and how they can benefit our customers.
  • Manage and track sales and progress in our custom software.
  • Support customers after initial sales to ensure satisfaction and realize opportunities for further sales.

Outside Sales Representative Requirements And Qualifications

  • A self-starting personality with a spirit of entrepreneurship
  • Prior experience in sales, particularly in a B2B environment
  • Hardware industry basics (information about our products or any of the hardware co-op chains such as Ace, True Value or Do It Best) is welcome but not essential.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Typical workday is 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday
  • Some travel is required.

Our firm is well established and has represented major manufacturers in the retail and consumer products marketplace for more than 50 years. Our primary customers are Ace Hardware, True Value, Do it Best, Orgill and Menards. The company offers a generous compensation package that includes salary, bonus, commission, auto allowance, 401K plan with match and health insurance. Annual compensation, salary and bonus combined, is between $55K and $75K.
