Purpose:

  • The client is seeking applications for the role of School Support Field Technician. This position provides direct, first-line desk-side support at schools and administrative sites. The School Support Field Technician is a critical link between technology teams and teachers, staff, and students, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues to ensure smooth technology operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school leadership and staff, including Principals, Assistant Principals, Main Office staff, School Business Managers, and Media Specialists.
  • Arrive at assigned schools at least 30 minutes before the first bell.
  • Monitor and manage support tickets, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Level 3 support and Subject Matter Experts for advanced technical issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Lead Field Technician or IT Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other field technicians across schools within the assigned cluster.

Technical Support Duties:

  • Maintain and update Chromebook carts, computer labs, and media center devices.
  • Troubleshoot interactive whiteboards, panels, digital signage, Kronos hardware, and Marquee signs.
  • Support standardized testing readiness by updating laptop carts and lab equipment.
  • Resolve minor wireless and network issues.
  • Install OS updates, patches, and configure printing devices on Apple, Chromebook, and Windows-based systems.
  • Maintain accurate asset assignment in Incident IQ.
  • Ensure clean and organized workspaces, including MDF/IDF closets.
  • Assist with deployment and removal of equipment.
  • Support the one-to-one student device program in collaboration with designated school Technology POCs.
  • Meet with onsite vendors as needed.
  • Monitor school outages using monitoring tools.
  • Provide support for IT projects and AV events at assigned schools.
  • Document all tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in Incident IQ for accountability and knowledge base development.
  • Attend mandatory monthly professional development meetings.
  • Retrieve and return parts, devices, and other items from the IT warehouse.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • field tech support: 3 years (Required)
  • trong customer service: 1 year (Required)
  • desk-side, break/fix support, and mobile devices: 1 year (Required)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • CompTIA A+ (Preferred)
