Student Success Coordinator: Tickle College of Engineering

This position assists the Director in management of various aspects of administrative services units and/or functions, with a priority on outreach and recruitment. The Student Success coordinator works with relevant college and university offices to plan and execute outreach and recruitment activities and events, with an emphasis on middle and high school students (e.g. classroom visits, campus tours, summer programs). With Director and other Office of Student Success staff, helps create partnerships with local high schools, community partners, and represents TCE at recruitment events as needed. The Coordinator also coordinates and manages schedule of travel, visits, and other general office duties as assigned.
The Student Success Coordinator serves as the primary contact for the Tickle College of Engineering and the Office of Student Success regarding outreach activities. Working with the Director and college staff, the coordinator plans and leads middle and high school programs, classroom visits, STEM nights, and other outreach events designed to engage students and promote engineering education. The coordinator supervises student workers, manages scheduling, tasks, and performance reviews, and represents the college at recruitment events. This role also involves advising prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community college partners on admissions, financial aid, housing, and academic information. In addition, the coordinator supports office fiscal operations by processing accounts payable, vendor setups, budget reconciliations, travel expenses, and payroll. The position maintains departmental, personnel, and financial records; assists with fiscal year budgeting and expense processing; coordinates meetings and virtual sessions; ensures compliance with UT policies and procedures; participates in administrative training; and performs other related office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in any field
- Experience: 2-3 years experience in admissions, counseling, advising, educational outreach, or teaching at a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent background in educational setting. Experience with K-12 students, student worker experience, or volunteer work in college admissions, recruitment, and peer counseling/advising will also be considered. Experience giving oral presentations.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Attention to detail, writing, listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to independently and strategically plan visits, events and presentations for prospective students. Ability to lift, transport and distribute objects up to 25 pounds. Oral presentation/public speaking skills. Ability to problem solve and research solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data driven decision making, and relationship building.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of university financial aid and travel policies. Experience working with K-12 or college students.
