The Manager of Finance leads a team of financial analysts and oversees the financial planning and analysis function of the firm, including coordinating the financial planning process, creating and monitoring reports of financial and statistical performance, and providing analysis of key metrics. The Manager of Finance works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer to support senior management in monitoring the firm's performance against budgets and long-term plans.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the annual budget process in coordination with the Controller's team, including setting timelines, supervising the development of the revenue budget, and development of final reporting to senior management.
  • Develop accurate and timely reporting and financial forecasting highlighting key metrics, trends and insights.
  • Analyze performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and analysis processes, implementing best practices and streamlining workflows.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Finance Systems to ensure financial business systems data integrity.
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Reporting Relationship
The Manager of Finance reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. In addition, this position will work closely with administrative department leaders and practice leadership and at times may serve in leadership roles in cross-departmental project teams.

Subordinate staff: Sr. Financial Analysts, Financial Analysts and related staff as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience

The Manager of Finance should possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. At least two years of legal industry experience is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting; advanced knowledge of Excel required, SQL and Power BI preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to building relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization, combined with the ability to lead a team of skilled professionals and develop a high-performing team.

Education

The Manager of Finance should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related business concentration. MBA or CPA preferred.

Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.; Remains stationary at least 85% of the time; This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis.); This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff; This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.
