The Coordinator of Student Care supports students served by the Office of Academic Accessibility (OAA) through coordinated care, communication, and program support. This role provides administrative, project, and student-facing support to advance accessibility, inclusion, and student success in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.

Required:

  • Associate's degree
  • Minimum of three years of administrative or project coordination experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with college students, young adults, or individuals with disabilities

Primary Responsibilities

Student Support & Care Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students receiving services through OAA
  • Coordinate academic coaching, test proctoring, and note-taker services
  • Assist students in navigating accommodation processes and campus resources
  • Support students in developing professional communication and self-advocacy skills
  • Respond to time-sensitive or complex student situations in collaboration with campus partners

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate with faculty, students, and campus partners regarding OAA services and procedures
  • Coordinate student care with offices such as Housing, the Registrar, Student Financial Services, Dining Services, and the Engle Center
  • Support Medical Housing and Emotional Support Animal (ESA) processes in collaboration with campus partners
  • Participate in committees, meetings, and professional development related to student success and accessibility

Programming & Outreach

  • Assist with planning and implementing OAA initiatives, events, and presentations
  • Create and update informational and promotional materials
  • Support OAA participation in admissions and student transition programming
  • Contribute to outreach efforts that promote accessibility and inclusion

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and student services
  • Support purchasing, expense tracking, and office operations
  • Assist with website and content updates
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of the Academic Success Center

Secondary Duties

Strong computer proficiency including the ability to work independently in Oracle, Excel, Word, Cognos, EMSwebapp, Intellilink, Google Drive, One Drive, Canva, and web software.

Willingness to seek assistance or advice to best serve students. Attention to detail and to the big picture. Ability to understand what is being communicated, quickly formulate a positive course of action, and explain the options in an understandable fashion.

Ability to assess concerns and questions and to find solutions in a timely manner. Ability to propose, develop, and participate in OAA student programming. Ability to remain calm in situations where students may be in distress. Ability to take initiative, work independently and handle confidential information. Ability to meet with students for academic coaching as needed. Ability to think outside of the box to resolve student concerns
