Infrastructure Project Manager

Reporting to the Project Director, the Infrastructure Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, and execution of major project infrastructure supporting Donlin Gold's mine development. This includes ports, roads, airstrips, utilities, IT systems, fuel storage, camps, and marine logistics. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical capability, and a proven ability to manage EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary teams within Alaska's remote and challenging Yukon–Kuskokwim (Y–K) region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, engineering, and delivery of Donlin Gold's infrastructure portfolio, including port facilities, access roads, camps, power systems, communications, and transportation networks.
- Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and budgets that align with Donlin Gold's operational requirements and long-term mine development plan.
- Manage EPCM contractors, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met across all infrastructure work packages.
- Oversee procurement and contract management processes, including negotiations, tender evaluations, and vendor performance oversight.
- Ensure compliance with Donlin Gold's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, Alaska regulatory frameworks, and federal permitting obligations.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, environmental, and construction management teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure into the broader mine plan.
- Conduct technical and constructability reviews to verify designs meet operational and safety requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with logistics, design interfaces, and cold-climate construction challenges.
- Maintain transparent communication and coordination with Donlin Gold's leadership, consultants, contractors, and Alaska Native partners (Calista Corporation and The Kuskokwim Corporation).
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and cost updates for management and external stakeholders.
- Drive lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement across project delivery systems.
- Represent Donlin Gold in community meetings, regulatory workshops, and technical reviews.
- Travel to Anchorage, the Yukon–Kuskokwim region, and other project sites as required.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline); Master's preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of experience managing complex infrastructure or mining-related capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing EPCM contractors, construction interfaces, and design coordination in remote or Arctic environments.
- Strong technical understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure systems supporting industrial projects.
- Proven track record in cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of risk management, quality assurance, and cold-weather engineering practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI).
- PMP certification preferred; Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) registration an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship consistent with Donlin Gold's values.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional fieldwork at remote project locations
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
This position is based in the Anchorage office, and the selected candidate must be willing to travel to visit the Yukon-Kuskokwim region and Donlin Gold project site.
