Expectations:

As a member of Tiny Scholars University (TSU) leadership team, the Childcare Director is

expected to uphold TSU's mission, model professionalism, and maintain a safe, clean,

developmentally appropriate environment. The Director will lead daily operations,

supervise staff, ensure licensing compliance, and build strong relationships with families

and the community.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood

Education or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory and classroom experience in a licensed childcare center

  • Director Credential preferred or willingness to obtain.

Child Development Knowledge

  • Support classrooms in implementing developmentally appropriate activities.

  • Review and monitor lesson plans and assessments.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Maintain licensing, CACFP, and Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) compliance.

  • Conduct daily and monthly safety checks and drills.

Administrative and Organizational Skills

  • Oversee enrollment, staff schedules, and operational reports.

  • Manage finances, meal counts, attendance, and training records.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and families.

  • Address conflicts and concerns promptly.

Staff Development

  • Monitor staff performance and training progress.

  • Conduct meetings and in-service training.

Technical Competencies

  • Use Brightwheel, KidKare, and for center operations.

  • Maintain accurate records for licensing, CACFP, and SUTQ documentation.

-Must be able to demonstrate skills using Microsoft excel, word, and powerpoint

Measurable Performance Indicators:

  • 100% compliance with licensing and SUTQ.

  • Maintain full enrollment with an active waitlist.

  • Annual staff turnover below 20%.

  • 100% completion of lesson plans, forms, and CACFP documentation.

  • Parent satisfaction at or above 90%.

  • All classrooms meeting health, safety, and learning standards in monthly checks.

Required Trainings & Professional Development:

  • CPR & First Aid Certification (current or obtained within 30 days of hire)

  • Communicable Disease Training (current certification)

  • Child Abuse & Neglect Recognition and Prevention Training (current certification)

  • Childcare Orientation Training through ODJFS (completed prior to working in ratio)

  • Minimum of 15 hours of approved professional development annually through OCCRRA

  • Career Pathways Level 3 preferred; willingness to obtain if not currently held

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38, $43,000.00 per year
