Program Director HUD Scatter Site Housing Program, reports to the CFO. Full-time Exempt position.

The Program Director has overall responsibility for all aspects of program operations, recruiting, training and supervising all Social Service staff. S/he assures that all documentation is in compliance with contract requirements and is responsible for the overall administration of all social services at respective Praxis sites and special programs.

Duties:

  • Directs the proper delivery of case management services to Praxis Housing to all 65 clients residing in scatter site housing units located in the Bronx NY.
  • Coordinates the work of the Social Service team to ensure effective service delivery to 65 clients. Schedules Social Service staff at the site to optimize staff availability to clients and staff access to (external) agencies.
  • Hires, trains, supervises multi-disciplinary team consisting of 3 case managers, oversees the Entitlement Benefits Specialist and 1 Handyman.
  • Interview new clients, on a need be basis, which meet the HUD definition of Chronic Homelessness eligibility criteria.
  • Prepares monthly reports submit to the Director of Operations and government funding agency.
  • Schedules assessment, re-assessments, case conference and clinical interventions as required by program contract.
  • Ensures readiness for audits by funders, as needed.
  • Conduct home visits as needed.
  • Maintain accurate leases, renew leases as needed.
  • Meet with landlords, building managements and brokers to master lease or de-lease apartment units, as needed.
  • Attends all required trainings and meetings.
  • Performs any other duties, as required by supervisor.
  • On call 24/7

Qualifications:

Education:

LMSW or Master's Degree, or equivalent experience required. CASAC a plus.

Experience:

Relevant experience of three or four years in program development and staff supervision. Knowledge of PLWA, Mental Illness and Chemical Dependencies (MICA) population.

Skills:

Commitment to working with chronic homeless persons living with HIV/AIDS, and other special needs, including mental health conditions. Long term unemployment and incarceration and current substance abuse.

Computer literacy; Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
