Colorado-Based Contractor | Employee-Owned | $160K–$180K+ DOE
Build the Roads, Bridges, and Infrastructure That Keep Colorado MovingWe're seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Estimator who knows what it takes to win and deliver complex infrastructure projects — from concrete paving and grading to drainage systems and bridge construction.
If you've spent your career in the heavy highway and civil construction world and want to take the next step with a self-performing, employee-owned contractor, this is your opportunity to join a team that values precision, ownership, and pride in the work we build.
This is not a commercial or vertical construction role — it's for estimators who thrive on the challenges of DOT, municipal, and public works projects where every detail counts.
Why Join Us?We're not just another contractor — we're a team of builders who take ownership in every sense of the word. As an employee-owned company (ESOP), every project you help win directly contributes to your personal growth and long-term financial success.
You'll be part of a tight-knit estimating group that collaborates closely with operations, ensuring every bid is strategic, accurate, and built to succeed in the field.
What You'll Do- Develop competitive, detailed estimates and bids for heavy civil and DOT infrastructure projects.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents to fully understand project scope.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for concrete paving, grading, utilities, and bridge structures.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure coverage and accuracy.
- Collaborate with project management and field teams for seamless project handoff.
- Track and maintain historical cost data, unit pricing, and production rates.
- Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and bid strategy sessions.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand site conditions and bid risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
- 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil or heavy highway construction.
- Proven experience with concrete paving, earthwork, drainage, and bridge structures.
- Deep understanding of DOT specifications and public works bid procedures.
- Proficient with HCSS, Agtek, or other recognized civil estimating software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Competitive Salary: $160K – $180K+ (depending on experience)
- Employee Ownership (ESOP): Build equity as you build projects
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
- Performance Bonuses tied to company and individual success
- Paid Time Off and Holidays
- Career Growth: Be part of a high-performing, growth-driven estimating team shaping Colorado's future infrastructure
If you're an experienced heavy civil estimator ready to take ownership of your projects, your results, and your future — this is your chance to make a lasting impact on Colorado's infrastructure while building real wealth for yourself.
