About the Role

Mphasis is seeking a highly experienced
Senior Data Analyst (10+ years)
to support a leading financial technology organization. This role requires strong expertise in data analysis, SQL, reporting, and financial domain understanding. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading analysis initiatives, working cross-functionally, and delivering high-quality insights for business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Build, enhance, and manage enterprise dashboards, KPIs, and analytical reports (Tableau/Power BI).
  • Translate complex business requirements into analytical models and reporting frameworks.

Data Management & Quality

  • Oversee data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, lineage, and quality across sources and reporting layers.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to refine data pipelines and source systems.

Business & Technical Collaboration

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis and present insights to business, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support financial and operational analytics.
  • Drive requirement-gathering sessions and document data flows, business rules, and mappings.

Technical Expertise

  • Write complex, optimized
    SQL queries
    for large-scale datasets.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for data inconsistencies and propose solutions.
  • Support integration of new data sources and automation of reporting workflows.
  • Contribute in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and mentor junior analysts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience
    as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst.
  • Expertise in:
  • SQL (Advanced — joins, window functions, performance tuning)
  • Tableau or Power BI
    (advanced dashboards & storytelling)
  • Excel (Advanced functions, pivoting, macros)
  • Solid experience in ETL processes, data validation, data profiling, and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong understanding of financial services, banking, or payments (highly preferred).

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in Python/R for automation or advanced analytics.
  • Big Data ecosystem exposure (Hive, Spark).
  • API-based data integration understanding.
  • Cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Knowledge of merchant acquiring, card processing, ACH, or payment operations.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to lead discussions and influence decision-making.
  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
