POSITION: Operations Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:      Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

SUPERVISES: Full and Part-Time Operations Workers

FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full time working supervisory position overseeing the efforts of the housekeeping and event set up crews.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working supervision of housekeeping and event set up staff
  • Oversee proper use and care of equipment
  • Oversee collection of data from staff for department reports
  • Inspects work for proper execution
  • Training of staff in best practices of facility cleaning and event set up to include use of cleaning chemicals, light cleaning machinery, forklift, etc.
  • Assists in set up, tear down and servicing of events
  • Responsible for attending organization and planning meetings for event-related activities
  • All other duties/responsibilities as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking of responsibilities and overlapping deadlines. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must have the ability to walk extended distances and climb stairs.  Physical requirements include the ability to lift lbs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including senior management
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours that will vary dependent upon event functions and will include day, evening, weekends and holidays
  • Mechanical aptitude helpful
