Responsible to the Director of Clinical Operations and indirectly to the site Medical Directors, for collectively managing operational activities with all Family Medicine service lines to ensure the promotion of Family Medicine's Mission, Vision, and Values. Works in collaboration with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Operations, and Clinic Medical Directors, the Practice Administrator participates in formulating long-term strategic and business plans to ensure Family Medicine's continued growth and viability while aligning goals to meet the needs and demands of the patient population.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning, and management sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operation of a medical practice.
  • Knowledge of managed care and other third-party providers, pay for performance programs, Hedis Measures, STARS, risk and reward 3rd party payer incentive contracts, and related guidelines, programs, initiatives, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a medical practice sis sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development is sufficient to ensure organizational productivity.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Skill/knowledge of generally accepted operating, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email systems (such as Microsoft's Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Outlook).
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third-party payers, patients, and the public.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and efficiently assimilate new technologies, hardware, and software into daily functions, including Electronic Health Records
  • Ability to electronically create, store, edit, and transmit documents as required for the performance of job functions that are HIPAA compliant.
  • Administrative writing skills using professional business English.
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards and to organize and help direct, with clinical input, quality improvement programs.
  • Ability to travel to and from various locations
  • Ability to relate to individuals and groups at all socioeconomic and educational levels.
  • Advanced facilitation and change management skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of current ICD and CPT coding, billing, collections, and managed care claim submission policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field, and two (2) years of supervisory experience

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field with at least four (4) years of supervisory experience
