Wind Inside Sales Engineer

Description:

Malloy Electric is seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Inside Sales Engineer to join our Wind department. This role supports customers and field sales teams by providing technical product expertise, preparing quotations, and managing orders for wind turbine components – including gearbox, main shaft, and blade bearings, as well as related drivetrain solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and organizational skills with a working knowledge of mechanical systems used in wind turbine applications.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries by phone and email, providing technical support and product recommendations.
• Prepare accurate quotations for wind turbine bearing replacements, upgrades, and related components.
• Collaborate closely with the Wind Department team members, Field Sales and Manager to develop customer solutions and proposals.
• Manage and track open orders, ensuring timely delivery, documentation accuracy, and proactive communication with customers.
• Review engineering drawings, part lists, and technical specifications to confirm proper fit and interchangeability.
• Maintain CRM and ERP data, including quote logs, customer notes, and order status updates.
• Support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting bearing or component identification issues.
• Run reports and analyze order data to assist with forecasting, demand planning, and project tracking.
• Coordinate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure prompt fulfillment of orders.
• Participate in product training and continuous improvement efforts to enhance customer experience and technical capability.
• Abide by all safety/environmental rules and regulations of Malloy and customers.
• Perform other functions as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in technical sales or engineering support within the wind, industrial or mechanical power transmission industries preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude of bearings, gearboxes, or mechanical assemblies.
• Basic proficiency in CRM, data management tools and Microsoft products.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent phone etiquette, communication skills and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
