Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and policies within our family of companies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves a high level of engagement on our job sites conducting safety assessments, as well as training employees, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain and improve upon existing safety programs and policies.

· Conduct daily safety audits and inspections of job sites, 50-60% of your time.

· Provide safety training and orientation for new hires and current staff.

· Monitor and enforce safety regulations and compliance.

· Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

· Prepare safety reports and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.

· Collaborate with project managing estimators, operations and field personnel to promote a culture of safety.

· Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

· Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is preferred but not required. If hired without this, it will be a requirement to obtain this as soon as possible.

· OSHA 30-hour certification is a minimum requirement, with additional safety certifications preferred (e.g., CPR/First Aid).

· 3+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in the construction industry.

· Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard recognition, and risk assessment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

· Must have a driver's license and a safe driving record.

What We Offer

· Office is in Waipahu, must travel to job sites on all islands, not a remote job.

· Salaried position that must be available for safety meetings, pre-cons and foremen meetings as early as 5:30 am, occasional weekend requirements.

· Salary for minimum requirements is $65,000 - $75,000, increasing for higher levels of qualifications, year end bonuses based on performance.

· Company truck, computer and cell phone are provided.

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
