Job Title: Part-Time Psychiatrist (Relief Position)

Location: On-site (Field and Office-based)

Schedule: Part-time – Two 10-hour days or Three 8-hour days per week

Overview

This part-time position supports an intensive case management and linkage program designed to serve veterans and military families. The program's mission is to prevent key risk factors such as suicide, homelessness, and underemployment, while promoting protective factors like social connectivity, financial stability, resilience, and socio-emotional well-being.

The program is transitioning to a Full-Service Partnership (FSP) model, offering comprehensive wraparound care including mental health services, housing support, medication management, and 24-hour crisis intervention. Referrals are triaged by risk level—low-risk individuals are connected to community-based supports, while moderate to high-risk individuals receive intensive services through the FSP.

Through partnerships with federal and local housing agencies, the program also works to provide permanent housing solutions for veterans experiencing homelessness.

Position Summary

The Part-Time Psychiatrist will play a key role in providing psychiatric assessment, medication management, and clinical oversight within the FSP and veteran support programs. The position requires participation in daily field rounds with clients, documentation, and prescription duties. This is an on-site position with limited flexibility for administrative work following field visits. Telehealth services are not currently available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for clients enrolled in the FSP program.
  • Participate in daily field rounds to provide clinical insights and support case management efforts.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in alignment with program guidelines and client needs.
  • Document all clinical interactions and maintain timely, accurate records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, social workers, and housing specialists.
  • Support risk assessment and crisis intervention efforts as part of a 24-hour care model.
  • Promote recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles in all client interactions.

Desirable Qualifications
