As an Data Scientist Director, Financial Analysis Data Science within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will drive strategic insights and actionable plans through rigorous quantitative analyses, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our analytical capabilities. You will lead a high-performing team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment. You will report directly to the Head of Transformation & Innovation and is central to enhancing our analytical capabilities by integrating traditional financial modeling with cutting-edge data science techniques. The ideal candidate will have deep finance expertise and industry knowledge, a strong analytical skillset, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive rigorous quantitative analyses that translate financial insights into actionable plans.
While a strong foundation in finance is essential, experience in data science techniques—including AI, ML, and advanced econometric methods—is highly valued"
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of financial models and forecasting tools that derive actionable insights for senior leadership in Financial Analysis.
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends.
- Innovate and design predictive models and sophisticated data science methodologies that blend traditional corporate finance with modern analytical techniques.
- Architect, build, and deploy ML/GenAI models (NLP, LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows)
- Conduct exploratory analyses to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, CDAO, CIB LoBs and technology to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Prepare, design, and deliver executive-level presentations and reports using advanced PowerPoint skills to clearly communicate complex analytical findings.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide strategic, data-driven insights that inform decision-making.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Promote continuous improvement and intellectual curiosity across the team by staying abreast of emerging trends in corporate finance and data science.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Advanced degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in financial modeling, forecasting or quantitative research within a leading financial organization.
- Experience with NLP, LLMs, agentic workflows, and scalable ML architectures
- Proficiency in traditional financial tools (advanced Excel, financial software) is required; familiarity with data science and/or statistical analysis and programming/scripting (Python, R).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience managing and mentoring cross-functional teams, cultivating a collaborative environment.
- A results-driven mindset paired with a relentless intellectual curiosity, quick thinking.
