Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and the use of various measurement tools. The CNC Machinist will contribute to maintaining high-quality standards and efficient production workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining.
  • Utilize CAD and SolidWorks for designing or modifying parts as needed.
  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the development of CNC programs using CAM programming software to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the production team.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery as necessary for assembly or secondary operations.

Experience

  • Proven experience with CNC programming and operation on CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, preferably with Fanuc controls.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Mechanical knowledge of tooling setup, fixture design, and machine maintenance.
  • Basic math skills necessary for precise machining calculations.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments with lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or power tools is advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology in a dynamic environment that values precision craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
