Job Description:

NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire a Network Engineer to support a Federal agency.

This role is located 100% onsite in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing information networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, intranets, and extranets, based on business requirements.
  • Document engineering processes, including build configurations, testing, and deployment plans and Coordinate network changes, including new implementations, upgrades, or version updates, with administrators and stakeholders.
  • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Apply engineering principles and collaborate with senior technical and user staff to complete projects efficiently.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard new and existing networks.
  • Provide basic documentation in the form of SOPs, or network diagrams to depict network infrastructure or traffic flow summaries for specific systems.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for equipment procurement and create detailed network diagrams, SOPs, and traffic flow documentation.
  • Support LAN infrastructure by monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
  • Manage point-to-point traffic flows between Layer 3 subnets or Layer 2 VLANs.
  • Install and replace LAN equipment, ensuring minimal maintenance downtime in high-uptime environments.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications and Certifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in network engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency.
  • Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance.
  • IAT II certification [(CCNA-Security), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)] as per DoD M requirements.
  • CE: Associate (professional preferred) level certificate
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Professional-level certifications in supported technologies.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting network systems in federal environments.
  • Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
