Cemetery Technician I Job Description
As a Cemetery Technician I, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and integrity of our cemetery grounds. Your hands-on approach will ensure that the landscape is well-kept, providing a serene environment for visitors and honoring the memories of those laid to rest. You'll engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance and aesthetic appeal of the cemetery, utilizing your skills in landscaping and general maintenance.
What you'll do
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming and edging, and planting to ensure the grounds are pristine.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various gardening and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with lawn care activities such as fertilization, aeration, and weed control.
- Collaborate with team members to execute landscaping projects that enhance the cemetery's appearance.
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Provide support during burial services by preparing gravesites and ensuring all equipment is ready for use. Assist with Funeral service parking as needed.
- Uphold safety standards while performing all duties to create a secure environment for staff and visitors.
Basic qualifications
- Experience with landscape maintenance preferred.
- Mechanical experience helpful, but not a requirement
- Familiarity with operating hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in lawn care or landscaping roles a plus, but not a requirement.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality work.
