Reports To: Associate Superintendent

Position Purpose: Greet district patrons both in person and by phone and direct them to the right person or department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluency in Spanish and English preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a pleasant voice; enunciating and speaking with proper grammar.
  • Requires ability to answer multiple phone lines in a polite and informative manner; must be able to direct calls appropriately
  • Requires ability to prioritize
  • Dexterity to handle PBX-type switchboard
  • Ability to type without error
  • Familiarity with computer
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of variety of office equipment
  • Good public relations skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle high volume of phone calls daily
  • Requires ability to effectively interact with a widely diverse population.
  • Requires ability to make decisions; problem solve and to provide sound judgement.
  • Greet all visitors, determine nature of business, provide appropriate information, and refer visitors to appropriate person or department in the district.
  • Prepare purchase orders

Physical/Emotional Requirements:

(The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.)

Sedentary Work (Level I) – This position may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. This position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing.

Terms of Employment:

12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Classified Personnel
