Industry leading Pump Manufacturer is adding an Instrument Fitter to their Hobby Airport area production team. This direct hire opportunity will be responsible for bending and fitting stainless steel tubing for centrifugal pump skid packages. Ideal candidates will have experience bending tubing up to 3/4" and be able to read blueprints. 

Job Summary:

Lays out all types of tubing, fittings, Interprets drawings and sketches. Plans details of working procedure and select materials in accordance with the needs of work to be done.

Responsibilities of the Instrument Fitter and Tube Bender include but are not limited to:

  • Lays out, installs, maintains, all types of tubing, fittings, and fixtures
  • Be able to bend stainless steel tubing from 1/8 up to 3/4
  • Interprets blueprint drawings and sketches 
  • Plans details of working procedure and select materials in accordance with prints
  • Lays out work; calculates dimensions and angles of bends
  • Set up and operate bending, threading, and cutoff equipment, use hand tools, and prepare and fabricate tubing
  • Installs any type of high or low-pressure tubing, fittings, fixtures, and parts for installation, maintenance, and repair
  •  Assemble hangers and supports
  •  Assemble / Install pumps, motors, sela flush systems on skids
  • Cleans all work areas
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Performs all work safely and efficiently and keeps work area clean and orderly
  • Willing to work with the electrical crew and other trades as job requires

Minimum requirements of the Instrument Fitter and Tube Bender include but are not limited to:

  • Safety First mindset and culture
  • 2 – 3 years of work experience as an industrial tube-bender / Instrument Fitter tube-bender / Instrument Fitter
  • 2 – 3 years of work experience in testing, inspecting installs of high- or low-pressure tubing's, fittings, fixtures, and parts installations.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience installing motors, pumps, seal flush systems on skids.

Additional Information:

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Work Environment: Shop environment with exposure to weather, noise, debris, dirt, heavy lifting. Must have own hand tools and steel toe boots.

Work shift: Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 2:30pm with some overtime and weekends as needed or required

Education: High School or GED or equivalent work experience
