Seasonal Custodial Staff

Position Overview:
Seasonal Custodial Staff play a key role in providing an outstanding guest experience at Mechanics Hall by helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment during our busy and festive holiday season. This position reports to the Event Manager and supports all areas of event operations as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lobbies, hallways, and event spaces before, during, and after events.
- Monitor high-traffic areas to ensure a safe, tidy, and guest-ready environment.
- Assist with event setups and breakdowns, including arranging chairs, tables, and equipment.
- Respond to cleaning needs or facility requests during events.
- Restock supplies and assist with waste removal and recycling.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the Event Manager promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior custodial, cleaning, or facilities experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills and a courteous, professional demeanor.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the seasonal period.
This part-time, hourly, seasonal position reports to the Event Manager and/or the Director of Event Operations. Rate of pay is $16 per hour. The number of hours per week will vary depending on the events schedule. Events include galas, fundraisers, weddings, dinners, and dinner-dances as well as both public and private receptions before and at performance intermissions.
