This is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleNight Shift: 3x12.0 hours.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status at Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in accordance with policy.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring a focus on patient education and achieving quality outcomes.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, effectively delegating tasks.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to unit dynamics, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs such as supplies and clinical training.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to CIRH only).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
