Tax Accountant (Part-Time)

Location: Albertville, MN (Hybrid/Remote Possible)

Workload: 15–25 hours per month

About the Role

Seat Cover Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Accountant to manage our multi-state Sales and Use Tax filings. This part-time role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, organization, and independence while working with a small but fast-growing e-commerce company.

In this role, you will:

  • Handle Sales and Use Tax filings across multiple U.S. states.
  • File for 19 states monthly and 11 states quarterly, ensuring all submissions meet their respective deadlines (by the 20th of each month).
  • Complete filings and maintain company spreadsheets with detailed summaries of each filing and payment.
  • Track all filing activity and provide a monthly overview report of completed filings.
  • Stay informed on changes to state filing schedules and adjust processes when needed.

  • A self-starter who can remain organized and proactive with multiple different state requirements.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to recognize differences in state-specific filing instructions and ensure accuracy in every submission.
  • Comfortable learning new information as tax regulations and schedules change.
  • Someone early in their career, a student, or anyone looking for consistent part-time accounting work.

Qualifications

  • Experience with tax filing, accounting, bookkeeping, or related administrative work preferred.
  • Familiarity with multi-state sales tax filings is required.
  • Strong spreadsheet and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
