Warehouse Operative

Description

CV OPTICS USA is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for a full-time position at the warehouse in Newark DE. You will be responsible for picking, packing & shipping customer orders, updating stock inventory levels, assisting with customer queries and preparing customer orders and inventory documentation.

The position requires some warehouse experience gained in a fast moving busy environment. The ability to learn and retain now knowledge and skills is essential. Working knowledge of warehousing processes and protocols is essential.

Working hours will be Monday thru Friday, 09:30 – 18:00. Overtime during evenings and possible weekends maybe available from time to time.

Job requirements

The role encompasses a number of duties which will include, but not be limited to, tasks as outlined below. The company reserves the right to amend the tasks from time to time as appropriate to meet the changing needs of the business.

Warehouse:

• Receive incoming deliveries from our parent factory.
• Verify, organize, and replenish deliveries to warehouse inventory locations.
• Ensure accurate inventories by performing cycle counts and updates to inventory.
• Accurately and efficiently pick customer orders and prepare for shipping
• Assign lenses to correct inventory locations.
• Process incoming return product
• Assist in erecting and moving of product shelving from time to time
• Identify and correct inventory deficiencies / discrepancies.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure work area is clean, neat, and free of safety hazards.
• Report any potential safety violations / hazards to management.
• Carry out instruction from line management in an efficient and diligent manner.
• Communicate with line manager and colleagues to ensure efficiency and team co-operation

Experience

Working as part of team is an absolute must as is some warehouse experience or picking and fulfilling of orders along with stock replenishment. Familiarity with basic IT systems such as Microsoft would be a distinct advantage. You should also be able to work autonomously under your won steam and carry out instructions in a compliant and efficient manner.

Education and qualifications

High School Diploma as a minimum. The successful candidate will need to be hardworking, dedicated, diligent, reliable, a team player, willing to learn and be flexible in their approach to work.

Job type

Full-time, at will. Hours are 09:30 – 18:00 Monday to Friday

Hourly: $17.00 dollars per hour for the right candidate, rising to $17.50 per hour after a successful 3 months probationary period. Overtime is available from time to time but not guaranteed

Work environment

Warehouse - Frequent kneeling, bending, moving, walking, pushing, pulling and twisting.

Ability to lift 30 pounds with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds.

Physical requirements

Carrying and lifting optical lens boxes up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk for extended periods of time on warehouse floor.

Repetitive motion (picking, grasping, transferring from carton/cart to shelves).

Safety

Safety conscious, dress code adhered, housekeeping standard maintained.

• Ergonomics (strain) and/or ergonomics human factor – lifting, carrying, bending, grasping, repetitive motions, pulling/pushing cart/cage, standing in one spot for extended periods of time, etc.
• Fall (slip, trip) - skids, boxes, pick ticket backing, etc. on floor.
• Struck by (mass acceleration) and/or struck against – equipment traffic in warehouse, boxes falling from locations, etc.
