What You'll Do…
As the Senior Procurement Specialist, you'll lead complex acquisition and contracting activities supporting one of STI Federal's federal client organizations, ensuring regulatory compliance and excellence throughout the procurement lifecycle. You'll oversee pre-award and post-award procurement functions, ensure compliance with federal acquisition standards, and provide expert guidance throughout the contracting process. This role requires strategic insight and technical acumen to drive efficient, compliant, and mission-focused procurement outcomes. Your work will directly advance STI Federal's mission to deliver exceptional support to federal partners serving critical national initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Oversee acquisition planning – Develop and review procurement strategies, source selection plans, and solicitation documents.
- Ensure regulatory compliance – Advise on federal acquisition regulations and internal policy adherence across all contracting activities.
- Drive performance excellence – Lead procurement actions, conduct cost and price analysis, and ensure timely award execution.
- Mentor and guide procurement staff – Provide technical support and training to junior specialists to build capability and consistency.
- Strengthen reporting and documentation – Maintain comprehensive records and deliver accurate status updates to client leadership.

- Expertise with negotiating, awarding, and administering competitive and sole source contracts, particularly with Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursement, and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience related to federal contracting.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Advanced Research and Development (ARD) or Medical Countermeasures (MCM) programs.
- Federal experience as a FAR based Contracting Officer/Contract Specialist
Compensation & Work Environment
- Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000, dependent on experience.
- Environment: Work will be performed at a secure facility in Washington, D.C., with potential for a hybrid schedule for candidates residing within 50 miles of the site.
Note: This position is being advertised in anticipation of contract award. Employment is contingent upon STI Federal's successful contract award and subsequent task order funding. Candidates selected for consideration may be contacted during the proposal phase to confirm interest and may receive a contingent offer or commitment letter prior to award. Final employment offers will be confirmed following award notification and funding approval.
