Description

We're seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with experience in cloud technologies to lead the design, implementation, and management of our IT infrastructure. This role blends traditional systems administration with modern cloud architecture, ensuring our environments are secure, scalable, and high-performing. The Administrator provides support and assistance to the IT Director in the management of the network and server infrastructure.  The Administrator will be responsible for managing the daily duties of the IT Director when the Director is out of the office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities -

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer and maintain on premise and cloud-based infrastructures and security (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Implement scalable, secure, and resilient systems across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues across servers, networks, and cloud services
  • Manage identity and access controls, including Active Directory and cloud IAM
  • Perform backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Provide technical oversight of data storage systems
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate and support business teams with deployments and integrations
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and change management processes
  • Assist the IT Director with:
    • Monitoring daily operations of network and server infrastructure
    • Evaluating IT and cyber risk and developing network recovery and backup processes
    • Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
  • Other duties assigned including assisting with AV duties during busy periods.  

Physical Requirements -

  • The person in this position must be able to move about inside and outside the office
  • To frequently communicate with managers and employees
  • Have an ability to access and operate computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to lift, move or carry up to forty (40) pounds.

Qualifications

Qualifications - 

  • Four-year degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • Minimum five years of System Administration support experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MAC OS and Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficiency with VMWARE, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, MFA, Firewalls, Switches.
  • Proficient in SAN and NAS technology
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Hands-on experience creating and monitoring cloud security policies and configurations
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks
  • Excellent ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, communication, and project management skills
  • Will need to be on call after hours and on weekends to address any network issues.
