Job Description
Purpose
The Maintenance Technician / Parts Clerk is a hybrid role combining the responsibilities of a Machine technician and a parts/inventory coordinator. The ideal candidate is expected to be mechanically sound but also have the interpersonal abilities to communicate with suppliers to buy the appropriate parts.

Key Missions
Parts Clerk Responsibilities

  • Need to have mechanical experience and the ability to work with other technicians.
  • Responsible for maintaining records of all parts inventory and organizing low stock levels and not fall below minimum levels.
  • Maintain a computer database of all parts, in addition to the ability to communicate with suppliers regarding parts order status and be able to coordinate with shipping and receiving when needed.
  • Process invoices for payment and request approval from supervisors for any orders that are placed and the ability to do parts research on all equipment.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality preventative and emergency maintenance services on various types of equipment.
  • Diagnose and understand equipment problems
  • Assist technicians in the repair/rebuild of mechanical modules and assemblies.
  • Assist technicians in the corrective maintenance and repair of the machinery.
  • Adhere to the procedures outlines in the Technical Support Maintenance Procedures.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the Technical Services Manager, Technicians, and Production Staff.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy with the ability to test, diagnose and resolve issues
  • Utilize MP2 platform in use by Idemia to maintain proper inventory levels, resolve issues, and provide customer support by following established processes for service activity reporting and call management.
  • Be consistently reliable and timely in all aspects of the position, and display a positive attitude.
  • Develop competency in required applications to confidently use diverse software and systems required by the operation
  • Committed to continuously improve by sharing ideas, problem resolution successes, and suggestions on process improvement
  • Ensure a safe environment is present during equipment repair/maintenance
  • Adhere to ISO 9000 specifications and requirements.

Profile & Other Information

  • Prior experience with inventory and procurement of parts
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with suppliers
  • Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to take direction well and follow training plans
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently or as a team.
  • Proficient with PC's, current operating systems and relevant software applications
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
