Job Title: Scheduler
As a Scheduler, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical and dental services. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will help coordinate appointments, manage patient records, and support our healthcare team in delivering exceptional care. What you'll do
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Manage incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy, utilizing multi-line phone systems to assist patients with inquiries.
- Verify insurance information and ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding.
- Review medical records for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide clerical support by filing documents, maintaining organized records, and assisting with care plans as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize scheduling for both patients and staff, enhancing overall clinic efficiency.
- Handle patient intake processes smoothly while demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
Basic qualifications
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems including ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a medical or dental office setting, preferably as a medical receptionist or scheduler.
- Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of health information management practices and electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
