Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks involving bookkeeping and related accounting procedures. Duties will include assisting with collection and disbursement of court ordered assessments, reconciling and modifying accounts, creating accounts receivable records, posting payments, preparing and sending correspondence to clients, providing excellent customer service, and data entry. This individual will exercise moderate judgment relating to Circuit Court financial assessments and will review and enter financial court orders. This position will have frequent contact with judicial staff, other court departments and state agencies, coworkers, and members of the general public. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for scanning documents into OnBase document management system. The successful candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position will be required to work Monday - Friday from 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED combined with six months of accounting or bookkeeping experience or an Associate's degree in accounting or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer literacy, attention to detail and accurate mathematical skills are required. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Experience in reconciling detailed accounts is strongly desired. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work with individuals from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds are essential. Previous court experience desired.
