       Position: School Psychologist (Grades P-12)
    Work Schedule: 185 Contracted Days, plus 10 additional days
    Evaluation: Annually
    Reports to: Director of Exceptional Education

    Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Exceptional Education, assist students, teachers, and parents in enabling students to derive the fullest potential educational experience from school by promoting positive self-esteem and resilience, providing suggested methods and plans for overcoming psychological, mental health, behavioral, social and/or academic challenges.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. P-H-M aspires to implement comprehensive and integrated school psychological services as defined by the National Association of School Psychologists' practice model Qualified candidates demonstrate an interest in providing comprehensive psychological services in an integrative and holistic approach.
    2. Conducts psychological assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological, behavioral, social, and academic challenges.
    3. Assists with the identification and placement of all types of exceptional education students.
    4. Attends case conferences and other types of meetings as needed for students with special needs.
    5. Maintains expertise in response-to-intervention (RtI)/multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to provide best practice and implementation guidance ranging from the individual student to systems levels.
    6. Maintains expertise in behavioral science and provides regular preventative and reactive behavioral consultation to teachers, administrators, and families as needed.
    7. Maintains professional knowledge and training in best practices for crisis response and threat assessments via district-provided curricula.
    8. Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology and conducts in-service programs as requested.
    9. Individual, group, or supportive therapy sessions may be conducted for students who may benefit from mental and/ or behavioral health interventions or support.
    10. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.
    11. Assists with district suicide prevention efforts as well as conducts suicide risk assessments when needed.
    12. Assists with the school district's dropout prevention efforts.
    13. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and growth by attending seminars, workshops, and professional meetings. Conducts research as needed and appropriate.
    14. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and providing student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
    15. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

    Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by or designated by the Director of Exceptional Education.
