POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Support Inside Sales Representative influences the sale of parts and service of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and other related products throughout the territory. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1. Prospect and develop assigned accounts and provide parts and service to meet customer needs. 

1. Develop e-commerce and other business opportunities for all assigned accounts, provide quotes, and close sales. 

1. Establish and maintain close working relationships with customers at all levels. 

1. Introduction of Hawthorne's parts and service capabilities to all customers. 

1. Make routine sales calls on customers in assigned markets and maintain a quoting process for parts and service. 

1. Assist customers in selection of programs that will ensure maximum life cycle of their equipment. 

1. Provide coordination between customers and parts and service departments to provide best possible service. 

1. Maintain customer contact information, sales call reports, and weekly call planners. 

1. Develop sales goals and objectives for each market. 

1. Initiate and conduct equipment inspections and evaluations to identify parts and service opportunities (TA1 utilizing Cat Inspect, GET and Undercarriage utilizing CTS Pro and Bucket Pro). 

1. Communicate and apply Hawthorne's Marketing and Merchandising programs for GET, Undercarriage, and other product offerings to increase parts sales.  

1. Work in coordination with Product Support and Parts teams to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives. 

1. Provide assistance / support to Parts team for coverage and growth of Retail and Small Core customer base parts sales.  

1. Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department, or individual goals and objectives. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 

1. Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record. 

1. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. 

1. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. 

1. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter. 

1. Must be organized and a good planner. 

1. Must have the ability to set and meet goals. 

1. A minimum of five years in a product support sales and service environment with experience in customer service preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often up and down stairs. 

1. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands. 

1. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork. 

1. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction. 

1. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist. 

1. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job. 

1. Climbing: In and out of equipment. 

1. Vision: Reads documents on the computer and paperwork. 

1. Talking: Communicates by phone and in person. 

1. Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods. 

ENVIRONMENTAL:

1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise. 

1. Temp/Weather: Works in both office and outdoor environments.
