Facilities Team Member

Position Summary

The Facilities Team Member supports the mission and ministries of Fellowship of the Rockies by helping maintain a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming church campus. This role works under the direction of the Facilities Manager and assists with daily building operations, event setups, routine maintenance, cleaning, and special projects. The Facilities Team Member plays a vital role in stewarding church resources and creating an environment where staff, volunteers, and guests can gather without distraction.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Facilities Support

  • Assist with daily upkeep of church facilities, including classrooms, offices, worship spaces, restrooms, and common areas
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, restroom restocking, and surface sanitizing
  • Help ensure all areas of the building are clean, orderly, and presentable before and after services and events

Event & Ministry Support

  • Set up and tear down rooms for services, meetings, classes, funerals, weddings, and special events (tables, chairs, stages, signage, etc.)
  • Reset spaces according to established room layouts and ministry needs
  • Assist with last‑minute facility needs during events as directed by the Facilities Manager

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, filters, ceiling tiles, door hardware, and minor repairs
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues promptly to the Facilities Manager
  • Help with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, minor landscaping, or exterior upkeep as needed

Safety & Security

  • Help maintain a safe environment by following established safety, security, and key/door‑code procedures
  • Lock and unlock buildings as assigned and ensure rooms are secured after use
  • Assist with monitoring building conditions during events and services

Team & Organizational Support

  • Work collaboratively with Facilities staff, Ministry Partners, and volunteers
  • Follow established procedures, checklists, and schedules
  • Support a culture of service, humility, and teamwork aligned with the mission and values of Fellowship of the Rockies

QualificationsRequired

  • Dependable, punctual, and self‑motivated
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (standing, walking, bending, lifting)
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for services and events
  • Alignment with the mission, values, and statement of faith of Fellowship of the Rockies

Preferred

  • Previous experience in facilities, custodial, maintenance, or related work
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment
  • Experience working in a church, school, or similar multi‑use facility

Work Environment & Schedule

  • This role involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work
  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on church activities and events

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $16.96 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
