We have an opportunity for a seasoned bartender with a flair for creating unique drinks, planning small events, organizing live entertainment, and helping develop service standards in our Wine Bar and Lounge, as part of a lifestyle hotel with an iconic location in Downtown NYC with 326 rooms. The Cloud One Hotel is part of the award-winning German-based Motel One Group. We are the first US hotel in our group, and the first hotel in our brand. Your responsibilities

  • The focus of this role will be 30% administration and 70% centered on providing outstanding service to our wine bar and lounge guests. Your duties will include the following:
  • Overseeing the daily operational standards of The Cloud One Wine Bar and Lounge food and beverage services
  • Managing the business aspects of the bar, managing inventory, weekly/monthly stock reviews, supplier orders, managing COGS, and EOM reporting
  • Planning weekly drink/cocktail specials, organizing the local DJ/performer schedules, and planning local events in the Lounge
  • Actively be involved in hiring, training, and performance managing staff to provide excellent service, focusing on guest review scores and guest service standards
  • Creating effective schedules and resolving staff conflicts to ensure that the bar is well staffed during peak hours
  • Create a team support system of duties and tasks to meet objectives and maximize resources
  • Ensuring all health standards are exceeded and all staff are TIPS and Food Handling certified

What you should bring

  • Previous experience in the hotel industry and/or gastronomy as well as in the management of employees
  • An excellent sense of quality and the ability to keep an overview in stressful situations – perfect service is your priority
  • Strong commitment to challenge and encourage your employees and thus to develop yourself and your team continuously
  • An open and communicative personality and strong hosting skills
  • A flexible, creative, and solution-oriented nature
